CHASING THE PRESENT

Even after more than 10 years of therapy, ongoing mindfulness practice, a healthier diet and improved relationships with family and partners, something still wasn’t right. How could James still suffer from anxiety after achieving everything he thought he needed to achieve to be happy? He explores those topics together with BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Mark Waters, producers and filmmakers Anna Kolber, Mike Beech and Daniel Worsley, in “Chasing The Present.” The film follows James on a journey to understand his anxiety and determine the cause. The award-winning film narrates James’s years struggling with anxiety, a path peppered with insight on mental wellbeing and how to learn peacefulness even in a fast-paced world. From the bustle of New York City to the quiet calm of Peru’s jungles, James immerses himself in self-inquiry, meditation and other healing practices whilst meeting with mental health experts, such as actor Russell Brand, Alex Grey, Graham Hancock, Sharon Salzberg, Rupert Spira, Joseph Goldstein, and Sri Prem Baba. Together they explore how to liberate one’s self from anxiety and panic attacks.
Seeing the impact of “Chasing The Present” on people around the world and realizing how important mental wellbeing has become to society, James decided to use this education in psychology to offer consulting and coaching professionally.
Apart from working as a psychologist, James is passionate about photography, travel, filmmaking and poetry. Outside of finding and creating new projects or dedicating time to clients, he enjoys spending time in nature.
